7th Day!

So i haven't been blogging the past few days because the 4th and 5th day weren't too exciting so i didn't feel i had anything to report, and since then we've been pretty busy. on Saturday another girl on our DTS finally arrived (i've been the only girl student here for a week with a bunch of other guy students) so i finally had a room mate! yesterday the rest of the girls arrived through out the day and now we have a total of 6 girls and 10 guys which hasn't ever happened at this base, usually there are more girls than boys but this time they almost out number us 2 to 1! on saturday we went to the beach again and went body surfing! the tide was super high and the waves were double the size they normally are...yeah i got a lot of salt water up my nose! we came back to the base and met three more guy students who just arrived. later that night we walked to this taco stand that is a bit of a walk but definitely worth it! they were the best tacos i've ever had! i crave them all the time! and the best part is you can have a huge filling meal for less than $4.00!!! on the way back we walked through this street fair that was going on and it was really neat to see all the street vendors out, it's different than in the states. we came back and went to bed.
so yesterday, oh by the way i've been running every morning with a staff girl, Kelly, and after running we stuck our feet in the pool and talked until it was time for breakfast. after breakfast a group of us took a taxi to church (the taxi is a truck with benches and a canopy in the bed of it, very different) it was interesting, everybody at church greets you with a kiss on the cheek even when you don't know them. it was hard hearing the sermon in spanish because they talk so fast that i could only understand one word out of every ten on average but that just makes me want to become fluent even more! after church we hung out for a bit and then the rest of the girls on my DTS arrived so i was excited to meet them! i really like all the girls and i don't think there will be major drama on the DTS because they aren't those type of girls, at least i hope not!
today was the first day of our DTS and first we had worship, it was amazing again, different than last time but still incredible because God was there with us and i felt like he was hugging me and then had to leave but said he would be back later. we had a snack and then got back together and i led the group with some ice breaker games and then we had orientation and then lunch. after lunch we went on a walking tour of the local neighborhoods and monuments. it was pretty cool! we went into this really old cathedral and it was just beautiful! we came back to the base, played cards, had dinner and then had our registration night, which is basically taking care of legal and financial stuff. and now i'm finishing this blog while listening to some pretty awesome worship music one of the students is playing. Good night! love you all!
